Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how FishMind AI (“FishMind,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares your information when you use the FishMind AI mobile app and website. We aim to be specific about what we collect and who we share it with. By using FishMind AI, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Account information

FishMind AI uses Sign in with Apple exclusively — there is no email-and-password login. When you create your account with your Apple ID, we collect:

Email address and a username and display name you choose.
Profile details you add, such as a bio, avatar, an optional free-text location, birthday, and gender.
Preferences such as language and measurement units.
Apple identifier. We store the Apple Sign-In identifier linked to your account. Because login is handled by Apple, we do not collect or store a login password.

Catch & fishing data

When you log a catch or save a fishing spot, you may provide:

Photos of your catches (stored on our servers).
Species, weight, length, quantity, fishing method, bait, and notes.
GPS coordinates of the catch or spot (see Location).
Weather and water conditions captured at the time.

AI Coach conversations

The messages you send to the AI Coach — including text and any images you attach — are processed to generate replies and are saved in your conversation history on our servers.

Technical & usage data

Account activity such as when you were last active.
Limited server request logs: the HTTP method, request path, response status, and duration. We do not log your IP address or device identifiers in these request logs. Some application logs may reference your account ID for support and troubleshooting.

2. Location information

FishMind AI uses your device location to power its core features. Specifically, GPS coordinates are used to:

Log the location of a catch or a spot you save.
Find fishing spots near you and show them on the map.
Fetch local weather and bite-time forecasts.
Provide location context to the AI Coach when you ask about conditions near you (only when you choose to share it).

We do not track your location continuously in the background. Coordinates are used when you take an action in the app, and you can manage location sharing in your settings at any time.

3. How we use information

To provide the app’s features — bite scores, spot discovery, weather, catch logging, the AI Coach, and the leaderboard.
To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
To process subscriptions and restore purchases (through Apple).
To personalize your experience and remember your preferences.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
To improve and develop the service (in aggregate).

We share data only with the providers that power specific features, and as described below. We do not sell your personal information.

DeepSeek — powers the AI Coach’s text answers. Receives your chat messages and conversation history, and, when you provide it, your coarse location and current weather as context.
Zhipu BigModel (GLM) — powers AI image analysis. Receives the images and prompts you submit for that feature.
WeatherAPI.com — provides weather data based on your coordinates.
OpenStreetMap / Overpass — provides map and fishing-spot data based on your coordinates and search area. No account identity is sent.
Apple — handles Sign-In validation and In-App Purchases. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we do not see or store your payment-card details.
Service providers we use to host and operate the service, under appropriate agreements.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a sale or transfer of our business.

5. AI features

The AI Coach and image-analysis features rely on third-party AI providers. Your inputs are sent to those providers to generate responses. AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete, so please use your judgment and do not submit sensitive personal, financial, or health information to these features.

6. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can deactivate your account in the app, which disables it and revokes your sign-in tokens. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at fishspotradar@163.com. We may retain limited information where required by law or for legitimate business records.

7. Security

We protect your data with measures such as token-based authentication, secure Sign in with Apple, and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights & choices

Access & update: View and edit your profile in the app.
Delete content: Remove individual catches and spots you’ve logged.
Settings: Turn location sharing and notifications on or off, and change your language and units.
Deactivate or delete: Deactivate in the app, or request full deletion by contacting us.
Apple Sign-In: You can stop using Sign-In with Apple through your Apple ID settings at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law (such as access, correction, or deletion). Contact us to exercise them.

9. Children

FishMind AI is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International data transfers

Because our third-party providers (including AI, weather, and map services) may process data outside your country, your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Effective date” above and, for material changes, notify you in the app.
